How Do I Connect My PC to a TV?

I want everyone to feel the freedom I do now that I'm from under the TV service companies. After you take care of the cables, just simply get a wireless keyboard and mouse as your remote controls. It's that simple. Really. It was that simple! Now I don't have a monthly bill, I have thousands of channels and my TV is now a multi-media center.

Connecting a Windows PC to a TV is becoming very easy.

The short answer is to connect your pc to your TV using the correct video/audio cables. The type of cable you need depends on the connectors on each device.

The longer answer is that every computer and television will be different. The older the device, the less connector types it may have available:

• VGA – a standard connector for most computers. This is video only; you will need separate cables to connect an audio source if you want sound on the TV.

• DVI –This is video only; you will need separate cables to connect an audio source if you want sound on the TV.

• S-Video – 1 cable with round connectors on each end; better than DVI and VGA

• Composite Video – 3 video cables. This is video only; you will need separate cables to connect an audio source if you want sound on the TV. The quality of this picture is almost as good as HDMI.

• HDMI – high definition, the best picture quality. Provides video and sound through 1 cable.

Use this process:

1. Determine the video/audio outputs you have on your Computer.
2. Determine the video/audio outputs you have on your Television.
3. Get the correct cable that connects the two – you can purchase any of these cables at an electronics store.

This process is as easy as connecting a monitor to your computer. The important thing is to make sure you have the correct cable for your computer and television.

Windows XP Pro and Vista include a multimedia program called Windows Media Center. You can use this program on your computer to watch and record television programs, view your digital photos and listen to music.
